Congratulations to each of you on a successful 2017 show season.  We appreciate all of the positive feedback and pictures sent showing your success and hard work over the past year.  Because of our customers and their family’s hard work and dedication to their pig projects, this has proven to be our most successful year in the show ring to date!  Within the next week or so we will update our website with more pictures of this year’s winners.

Now on to 2018! We are having our winter pig sale on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Creeds Ruritan Community Complex (same as previous years).  Pigs in this sale will be ideal for April and early May shows.  More details will be posted shortly.

We will start picking sweet corn on Friday, July 7th and will continue through the month of July.

• Corn is sold by the “dozen” for $5 or by the “bag” (5 dozen) for $20.
• To place an order, please call 757-421-3625 at least a day in advance.
• We pick our sweet corn fresh each morning so you can pick it up any time after 8 am.

Get locally grown, fresh, white, sweet corn for your summer cookouts or to freeze to use throughout the year!

 

Our summer pig sale is coming up on Saturday, June 17th. Pigs in this sale were born in March and early April and will be ideal for the VA and NC State Fairs. Pictures of the pigs will be posted on the website approximately 10 days before the sale.

The sale will be held at the Creeds Ruritan Community Complex (map below).

We are excited to announce several changes to our sale day format compared to our previous summer sales!

 

We also plan to offer a small, yet high quality set of NC Born and Bred pigs in the sale.

If you cannot attend the sale but are interested in bidding on or purchasing pigs, we can make arrangements with you to do absentee bidding.

There will be feed available for sale. It is the same ration that the pigs are currently on. If you know in advance that you need feed, please contact us so that we can have it pre-bagged for you. The price of the feed is $35.00 / 100lbs.

Unless prior arrangements are made, all pigs purchased in the sale must leave the farm upon settlement.

Please use proper biosecurity procedures/precautions before attending our sale and when you return home from the sale. Some common biosecurity practices are cleaning/disinfecting your vehicle and trailer (inside and outside), wearing clean clothes that have never been exposed to pigs, and wearing clean shoes that have never been exposed to pigs.

Our January and February litters look great and they are ideal for July and August shows.

All of the pigs will be sold privately off of the farm starting in late March and continuing through early May. Please call to set up an appointment to view the pigs. Delivery options are available.

Here are the final details about our upcoming club pig sale on Saturday, January 16, 2016. The sale is less than two weeks away!

We are excited to be offering an outstanding set of pigs to start out the new year. Pigs in this sale will be ideal for shows in late March through shows in early May. Please take a minute to view the offering of pigs in the sale here on the website. We will be selling approximately 75 pigs in the sale.

We will conduct the sale at the Creeds Ruritan Community Complex (1057 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Bach Virginia, 23457) in a heated building (so you don’t have to worry about the cold weather).

Registration for the sale will start at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 16th. Lunch will be served at 11 am, and the sale will begin at 12:30 pm.

Also, the barn will be open on Friday night January 15th from 5 pm until 8 pm for viewing of the pigs.

The sale will be conducted in a bid board style format just as we have done in the past. If you have any questions about this, please contact us!

As the 2015 show season comes to an end, we would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to all our customers on their successes in the show ring. You all did an awesome job representing Land of Promise Farms and our show pig program. Please take the time to browse through the website and see our 2015 Champions.

As we gear up for 2016, we have lots of baby pigs on the ground that will be ideal for early and mid spring shows (March-May). Pigs for the March shows will be available for sale in December by appointment here at the farm. We will sell pigs for shows in April and early May at our Winter Club Pig Sale on January 16, 2016. We are more excited about the set of pigs for this sale than any other sale we have ever had!! Watch the website for more details!

Our U-Pick pecan operation is in full swing. 

The rainy and windy conditions have provided an early bumper crop of pecans on the ground.  Pecans are great to cook with around the holidays, and they make great gifts for your friends and family as well! 

Please call for hours of operation (757-421-3625).  Cost is $3.00/lb.
