Here are the highlights for the upcoming show pig sale.

 

If you cannot attend the sale but are interested in bidding on or purchasing pigs, I can make arrangements with you to do absentee bidding.

There will be feed available for sale. It is the same ration that the pigs are currently on. If you know in advance that you need feed, please contact me so that we can have it pre-bagged for you. The price of the feed is $35.00/100lbs.

Unless prior arrangements are made, all pigs purchased in the sale must leave the farm upon settlement.

Please use proper biosecurity procedures/precautions before attending our sale and when you return home from the sale. Some common biosecurity practices are cleaning/disinfecting your vehicle and trailer (inside and outside), wearing clean clothes that have never been exposed to pigs, and wearing clean shoes that have never been exposed to pigs.

We are more excited than ever about this offering of pigs! We are confident that the quality of these pigs will help you be successful in the show ring this spring!

Land of Promise Farms and The Horsley Family are excited to announce that we will be having our 3rd Annual Winter Club Pig Sale on Saturday January 17, 2015. Pigs sold in this sale will be the correct age for all April and early May hog shows. The sale format will be similar to that of previous sales. However, due to continued concerns over biosecurity, we will be holding the sale at a location approximately 6 miles away from the farm. Details regarding the new sale location will be provided at a later date.

Early indications are that this will be the deepest, most consistent set of pigs offered from Land of Promise Farms ever! We certainly appreciate the continued support and trust that each of you have had in our show pig program over the years. We look forward to helping each of you strive toward your goal of reaching the winners circle in 2015!!

Please take a minute to look at the updated pictures of our customers and their success showing pigs raised by us in 2014. As we get closer to sale day, pictures of this years offering of pigs will be posted on this website.

Land of Promise Farms is extremely excited to announce that they will hold their 2nd Annual Summer Pig Sale on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Pigs in this sale will work best for shows held in late September through the whole month of October.  The barns will open for the viewing of pigs at 9 am on Saturday, lunch will be served at 11 am and the sale will start at 12:30 pm. Additionally, pigs will be available for viewing the week before the sale by appointment only. The auction style will be a bid board/silent auction format, similar to our previous sales.

For those of you wondering, we have remained PEDv free to date through taking biosecurity measures to the highest level that we possibly can. We ask each of you to be mindful of the situation that we are in. Please practice sound biosecurity procedures as you make plans to attend our sale. Please wear clean clothes and shoes that haven’t been around other pigs. Additionally, if possible bring a trailer or box to haul your pigs in that is clean and disinfected. We will have other measures in place on sale day to help both you and us remain clean. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!!

We are extremely excited about the January and February born pigs that we have on the ground and on feed in the show barn. We feel that this group as a whole is the best set of pigs this age that we have ever raised.

Please call to inquire as soon as possible so that we can be sure to accommodate your needs. Delivery options are available as well.

One last reminder about our club pig sale coming up this Saturday, January 18.

• The sale will be held at the farm.
• Registration will begin at 9 am.
• The barns will open at 9:30 am to view the pigs.

• The sale will start promptly at 12 noon.
• The sale will run in a silent auction/bid board format similar to those that we have conducted in the past.

As sale day draws near we just wanted to send out a reminder about our 2nd Annual Winter Pig Sale on January 18, 2014.

• The barn will open at 9:30 am on sale day for viewing of the pigs.
• Lunch will be served at 11 am.
• The sale will start at 12 noon.
• The pigs will also be available for viewing one week prior to the sale by appointment.
• Pigs will be sold using a silent auction/bid board format (just as our previous sales have used).

Farrowing of January and February litters has gone extremely well thus far! We look forward to having one of the deepest sets of pigs to date available for sale for upcoming 2013 summer shows. Please contact us as soon as possible regarding the sale of these January and February born pigs.

Land of Promise Farms is excited to announce that they will be having the 1st Annual Summer Club Pig Sale to market their late March and April show pigs. These pigs will be suitable for both the North Carolina State Fair and Virginia State Fair, as well as any other shows being held in October.

 

The sale will be held on June 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Land of Promise Farms. Viewing of the pigs will start at 10:00 AM, lunch will be served at 11:30 AM, and the sale will begin at 1:00 PM. Additionally, the pigs will be available for viewing 1 week prior to the sale by appointment. The sale format will be conducted using a Silent Auction/Bid Board format, similar to the format of the sale we had back in January.

 

We are excited about the set of pigs that we have to offer, as we feel it is one of the better sets of pigs that we have ever offered to our customers to compete at the NC and VA State Fairs. We look forward to working with you and hope to help provide you with high quality pigs that will be successful in the showring!!
